The Great Turning

I have been a part of the global women’s grassroots movement having the privilege to attend around 60 international and national conferences; United Nations, Parliament of the World Religions, World Council of Churches, Anglican, Episcopal and women’s interfaith and spiritual.  I can say without a doubt that women activists are tenacious, resilient, courageous, wise and co-creative in finding solutions and new ways of being in addressing poverty and climate justice. They are on the frontlines of stopping deforestation, pipelines, drilling, mining, toxic waste, air and water pollution, infringement of sacred lands, destruction of housing for the poor, food waste, single use plastic, crime, violence against women and girls and more. 

We are seeing a great turning away from ignorance, greed and apathy related to the climate crises, poverty and violence. We believe we are at a turning point to reverse harmful practices of extraction, over development, consumerism, dependency on fossil fuels and plastics, and fear of the unknown.  We know that with women’s empowerment the Great Turning will happen.   

The unknown of new ways of being with one another and Mother Nature are being revealed to us by grassroots women, prophets, mystics, visionaries, sages, storytellers, creatives, indigenous wisdom, scientists, children and the non-human world.  

We each have a part and by just saying yes to doing something we discover our roles in the community of all life. It is exciting, solution-based and empowering.

​We are stepping into shared leadership bringing an emerging worldview of interconnected reciprocal relationships.  We are doing it together locally and globally with people of all ages. This is the largest global movement in human history and with women’s full participation will save the world.
